How It Works

Starting today, registered Salina311 members can earn points for activities they're already doing... reading local stories, voting in community polls, sharing events, and soon... participating in local initiatives like donating to area non-profits.

These points can then be redeemed for exclusive perks and rewards from participating local businesses.

"We wanted to create a program that builds community engagement," says Salina311 CEO Matt Moody.

"The more you participate in the community... whether that's reading local news, voting in polls, or contributing information, the more you're rewarded."

Ways to Earn Points

Salina311 members can accumulate points through a variety of activities:

- Reading Local Stories:

Stay informed about what's happening in Salina and earn points for reading community news and features. (If you're signed up and signed in right now... you just earned 1 point)

- Voting in Polls and Creating Polls:

Share your voice on local issues and community questions.

- Submitting Events:

Help keep our community calendar comprehensive by sharing local events

- Contributing Stories:

Share your perspective through user-submitted stories

- Participating in Q&A:

Ask and answer questions in our community Q&A section

- Engaging with Content:

Upvote your favorite stories, events, and local businesses

The number of points awarded for each activity varies based on community needs and goals.

Points will also be delivered for offline events too. Soon you will be able to earn points from attending events, donating to local charities, or volunteering.

The Rewards marketplace will continue to expand as more local businesses join the program (free). Members can browse available rewards directly on the Salina311 website, where they'll see:- What perks are currently available- How many points each reward costs- Participating businesses- Delivery details for each rewardOnce a reward is claimed, members receive a unique redemption code that can be presented to the business. It's that simple.

Once registered, you'll immediately start earning points for your community participation.
