Texas Man Arrested After 133 MPH Pursuit Through Saline and Ellsworth Counties

A Texas man faces multiple felony charges after leading law enforcement on a high-speed chase that reached 133 mph and crossed two Kansas counties early Tuesday morning.

A Saline County Sheriff's deputy spotted a vehicle traveling northbound on Interstate 135 near the south county line around 12:49 a.m. The car was speeding at 133 mph with its headlights off.

When the deputy attempted a traffic stop, the driver refused to pull over and continued fleeing at speeds exceeding 100 mph. The vehicle took the cloverleaf interchange and headed westbound on I-70 before finally stopping at Exit 209 in Ellsworth County.

Deputies arrested Hunter Sims, 22, of Denton, Texas, who was driving a 2013 BMW. He faces charges including felony fleeing and eluding, reckless driving, speeding, driving without headlights, expired registration, and leaving the scene after striking a delineator.

No injuries were reported, and the case remains under review.
