Salina Man Arrested After Multiple Protection Order Violations and Foot Chase

Salina police arrested a 29-year-old man following a series of violations of a protection-from-abuse order involving a 40-year-old Salina woman. The suspect, identified as Cody Michael Jones, is accused of repeatedly contacting and confronting the victim through physical acts, property damage, and threatening messages.

The victim reported that the violations had been occurring for several days prior to filing the official report on November 23. Earlier incidents included Jones arriving uninvited at her residence, physically assaulting her, taking her purse—which was later recovered—and damaging her vehicle with a flashlight. He also sent multiple threatening text messages, including threats to burn her property.

On November 28, Jones reportedly returned to the victim’s home, removed a surveillance camera, and banged on the door. The victim’s daughter witnessed and identified him during the incident.

Officers began searching for Jones and later located him near Santa Fe and Republic. When approached, Jones fled on a bicycle and eventually hid in the basement of an associate’s home. Officers attempted to locate him using a robot, but due to heavy clutter, a police K-9 was deployed. The K-9 located Jones concealed under clothing and debris, and he was taken into custody.

Jones faces multiple charges, including three counts of criminal threat, battery, damage to property, deprivation of property, stalking, and several counts of protection-from-abuse order violations. The total number of protection order violations is still being determined. The investigation is ongoing.
