Salina Police Arrest Man on Domestic Battery Charge After Disturbance on West Republic
Salina Police responded to a disturbance on the 9th at approximately 4:00 p.m. in the 1600 block of West Republic. Upon arrival, officers learned that the male involved had already left the residence. They made contact with a 27-year-old female victim who had visible bruising and swelling to her face. She reported being struck multiple times and stated that a wall inside the residence had been damaged during the incident.
Officers located the suspect, identified as 29-year-old Austin Warford of Salina, about a block away. Warford was taken into custody and transported to the hospital for treatment of a hand injury.
The female victim declined medical attention at the scene but later went to the hospital in her own vehicle, where she received treatment and was released.
Warford was arrested on suspicion of domestic battery and criminal damage to property related to the damaged wall. After receiving medical care, he was booked into the Saline County Jail. The investigation remains ongoing.
