Salina Police Investigate Attempted Burglary on Armory Road
Salina Police responded to a burglary alarm at approximately 3:45 a.m. on December 13 at a business in the 1300 block of Armory Road, located behind Atwoods on Broadway.
Upon arrival, officers found damage to an exterior door measuring approximately 36 by 80 inches. The door had a shattered, kicked-in window and pry marks on the locking mechanism, indicating an attempted forced entry. Police determined that no entry into the business had been made.
The estimated damage to the broken window is approximately $500. Officers are reviewing surveillance video from the scene as part of the ongoing investigation. Investigators noted that the method of attempted entry, including pry marks, is similar to recent downtown business burglaries and are examining whether the incidents may be related.
The case remains under investigation as officers work to identify those responsible.
