Salina Animal Shelter Temporarily Closed Due to Parvo Case
The Salina Animal Shelter closed to the public for the remainder of Tuesday, December 16, to complete additional cleaning and sanitizing protocols.
Three stray puppies that came into the shelter's care tested positive for Parvovirus (Parvo) upon intake.
Staff remain on-site caring for the animals.
For urgent animal-related needs, the public can call 785-826-6535. The shelter plans to reopen to the public the following day.
The closure was implemented out of an abundance of caution to protect the health of the animals in the shelter's care.
