Three Juveniles Taken Into Custody After Stolen Vehicle Located in Saline County

On December 20, the Saline County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a stolen vehicle from the 300 block of Russell, according to authorities.

The vehicle, a 2006 white Kia valued at approximately $4,000, was reported stolen by its owner, a 19-year-old male, who stated he had parked the vehicle on December 19 and left the keys inside. The vehicle was discovered missing the following morning.

At approximately 1:50 p.m., deputies located the stolen vehicle in Oakdale Park with three male occupants inside. When deputies attempted a traffic stop, the vehicle drove away, traveling along Front Street before turning onto Johnstown, where it eventually stopped. All three occupants exited the vehicle and fled on foot but were located and taken into custody a short time later.

The individuals were identified as two 13-year-old males and one 14-year-old male. The juveniles were taken into custody for investigation in connection with the vehicle theft.

Due to juvenile processing guidelines, the juveniles were transported to a juvenile intake facility for fingerprinting and photographs and were released to their parents. The case will be forwarded to the county attorney for review.

The investigation remains ongoing.
