On the evening of December 24, Salina police officers were dispatched to a residence in the 100 block of West Ellsworth to conduct a welfare check following concerns about a possible domestic disturbance.
Upon arrival, officers made contact with a 41-year-old female on the front porch of the residence. She reported that a physical altercation had occurred between herself and her live-in boyfriend during an argument in the kitchen. According to the report, the male suspect forcibly took her phone while she attempted to call police in an effort to prevent the call. The woman was later able to regain possession of the phone and contact law enforcement.
Officers confirmed that several juveniles were present in the home at the time of the incident. No visible injuries were observed on any individuals at the scene.
The male suspect was identified as Stephen Booth, 39, of Salina. Booth was arrested at the residence and booked on charges including:
•Domestic battery
•Robbery
•Intimidation of a witness
The incident remains under investigation.
