Sam Bush to Perform at Stiefel Theatre on April 3
Acclaimed mandolin player Sam Bush will perform at the Stiefel Theatre on Friday, April 3 at 7:30 pm.
Tickets go on sale Friday, January 16 at 10 am.
Bush is widely recognized as one of the premier mandolin players of his generation and a guiding light of the progressive bluegrass scene.
No Depression has called him "the most exciting and excitable picker in acoustic music," while Country Standard Time praised his "smooth, crisp and aggressive instrumental lines" that complement strong lyrics.
The Kentucky native drew inspiration from Bill Monroe and his Blue Grass Boys, as well as Bob Marley and The Wailers.
As a teenager, Bush notably declined an offer from Roy Acuff. He went on to help lead the New Grass revolution in bluegrass music before departing the genre's leading band at the height of its commercial success.
