Salina Man Arrested Following Reported Threatening Phone Calls

On January 14, 2026, a 61-year-old Salina woman reported that she and two relatives, ages 87 and 88, had been receiving multiple phone calls and voicemail messages over several days from a known subject.The caller was identified as Michael Sampson, 57, of Salina. During some of the calls and messages, Sampson allegedly made threats against the lives of all three individuals.

Officers located Sampson in the 1000 block of W. North Street, where he was taken into custody without incident.Sampson was booked into the Saline County Jail on 30 counts of harassment by telecommunication device, 14 counts of stalking, and nine counts of criminal threat.The investigation is still ongoing.
