City of Salina Announces Snow Operations for Weekend Storm

City of Salina Announces Snow Operations for Weekend Storm

The City of Salina will be pretreating roadways throughout Friday morning in anticipation of snow expected late Friday, January 23.

Staff will have plows on trucks and be on standby throughout the night to deploy when needed.

Widespread snow showers are expected to begin developing after sunset Friday, continuing off and on throughout Saturday.

Pavements will be below freezing at the onset, allowing accumulation to begin. Highest accumulations are expected to setup south of I-70.

Some blowing and drifting snow will be possible due to the dry, fluffy nature of the snow.

Snow activity is expected to taper off during the evening hours on Saturday, ending west to east after midnight Sunday.

City staff will monitor conditions and respond as necessary throughout the weekend weather event.
