Salina Police Traffic Citations Show Daily Variation in January
The Salina Police Department issued between one and 16 traffic citations daily during a recent four-week period in January, according to city data.
Citation numbers fluctuated significantly from day to day, with the highest single-day total of 16 citations recorded on Jan. 11. The department issued only one citation each on Jan. 3, Jan. 23 and Jan. 24.
Over the 30-day period from late December through late January, daily citation totals averaged approximately six per day. The data shows no clear weekly pattern, with both high and low citation days occurring throughout different days of the week.
The maximum number of citations the department has issued in a single day is 37, though this peak was not reached during the recent reporting period. Daily totals of nine or more citations occurred six times during the January period.
The citation data reflects routine traffic enforcement activities by Salina police officers and represents one measure of the department's ongoing traffic safety efforts in the community.
