Georgana "Georgie" Lorane (Hixson) Ballou

April 8, 1941 ~ January 25, 2026 (age 84)

Georgana "Georgie" Lorane (Hixson) Ballou, of Salina, Kan., found serene peace on January 25, 2026, holding the hand of her dearest love and surrounded by family.

Born April 8, 1941, in Inola, Oklahoma, she entered the world small and frail yet quickly revealed a spark and determination that would define her life. She graduated from Rogers High School in Tulsa, where she met the love of her life, Ted R. Ballou. They married on September 6, 1958.

Georgie is survived by her beloved husband of 66 years, Ted Ballou of Salina; daughter Tami (John) Herl of Salina; son Erik (Annette) Ballou of Salina; grandchildren Aaron (Amber) Herl, Niki (Jake) Norris, Brandi (Michael) Williams, Payton Ballou, and Katelyn Ballou.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, February 1, 2026, at Ryan Mortuary, 137 N 8th St, Salina, KS.


Bruce A. Doris

Bruce A. Doris, age 54, passed away peacefully on January 28, 2026.

Bruce was born on January 26, 1972, in Ransom, Kansas. He later grew up in Colby, Kansas, where he graduated high school in 1991.

Bruce was a devoted and loving father, son, brother, and friend. In his younger years, Bruce loved to play pool. He also enjoyed golfing, fishing, bowling, and most of all being with his children and grandchildren.

He is survived by his sons, Terry D. Doris of Salina and Toby M. (Danielle) Doris of Overbrook; his mother, Donna M. Doris of Salina; his brother, Mark L. (Lynn) Doris of Minneapolis.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:30 PM on Tuesday, February 4, 2026, at Ryan Mortuary, 137 N 8th St, Salina, KS.
