Salina Symphony to Present Rodgers & Hammerstein Classics March 8
The Salina Symphony will present "An Afternoon of Rodgers & Hammerstein" on Sunday, March 8, at 4 p.m. at the Stiefel Theatre, featuring beloved songs from musical theatre's most iconic duo.
The performance will showcase treasured melodies from The Sound of Music, Oklahoma!, The King and I, Carousel, South Pacific, and State Fair—celebrating the legendary songwriting partnership that has captivated generations.
Featured Performers
Guest artists soprano Janie Brokenicky and baritone Drew Horton will join the orchestra for this special performance. Brokenicky, praised for her "rich and versatile" voice, has performed with the Wichita Grand Opera, Wichita Chamber Chorale, Hays Symphony Orchestra, and Kansas State University Orchestra.
Horton will make his Salina Symphony debut. In addition to numerous musical theatre roles, he has performed as a soloist with the Flint Hills Masterworks Chorale, K-State Symphonic Band, and Re:sound Ensemble.
The chorus will feature the Kansas Wesleyan University Chorale, Salina South High New Dawn Singers, and Southeast of Saline Madrigal Singers.

A free pre-concert talk with Maestro Segal and guests will begin at 3 p.m. on concert day. Doors open at 2:45 p.m.
